Bids are invited from reputed manufacturers of microbial bio-control agents for production, formulation and supply of Beauveria bassiana (coffee berry borer strain) in liquid form. The isolate may be obtained from the Central Coffee Research Institute.

The formulation should be oil-based or in any other liquid carrier with a minimum count of 2 x 1010 spores per ml. The minimum shelf life should be six months under normal conditions of storage.

The formulation, when diluted for spray against the coffee berry borer should have a minimum count of 1 x 107 per ml for infectivity.

The price quoted should be competitive. Sample formulation should be given for laboratory and field testing at the Central Coffee Research Institute by July 15th 2009.

If the sample formulation is found satisfactory in performance, final order would be placed and the product should be available for use in the field from August 15th onwards.

The Coffee Board reserves the right to either accept or reject the bid without assigning any reason thereof.

Interested firms may submit their bids, superscribed “Bid for B. bassiana formulation” to the Director of Research, Central Coffee Research Institute, Coffee Research Station – 577 117, Chikmagalur District, Karnataka so as to reach on or before 3rd July 2009.
