TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SALE OF STANDING PEPPER CROP ON VINES OF CRSS FARM AND TEC, CHETTALLI FOR THE SEASON 2007-08 THROUGH CLOSED/SEALED TENDER BASIS

The Standing Pepper Crop on vines of CRSS Farm and TEC, Chettalli for the season 2007-08 will be sold by inviting closed/sealed tenders from intending buyers. Last date for receipt of tenders in the prescribed format is 22-01-2008 (before 3.00 PM)

1.he tenders in closed/sealed envelopes shall reach the undersigned super scribing "Tender for Standing pepper crop of CRSS & TEC". Closed Tenders once submitted is final and binding. The same will not be returned to the tenderer at any cost before or after processing.

2.Each tender should accompany an EMD money of Rs.75,000/- (Rs. Seventy Five thousand only) in the form of Demand Draft favouring the Deputy Director ( R), CRSS, Chettalli payable at Madikeri on any of the nationalized banks. Cash will not be accepted. Tenders received without EMD money is liable for rejection summarily.

3.The prospective tenderers may visit both the CRSS Farm and TEC and inspect the crop with prior permission of the undersigned.

4.Opening of the closed envelopes will be at 3.30 PM on the same day in the Office premises. No open auction. Minimum 3 tenders are compulsory for tender finalization/processing.

5.The competent authority has the absolute right/discretion to summarily reject all or accept any tender without assigning any reason.

6.EMD money of the successful Tenderer will be held as security deposit. Demand Draft towards EMD of the unsuccessful Tenderers will be returned as it is on the same day against acknowledgement. If desired, crossed cheques payable at SBM, Madikeri will be issued towards refund of EMD on the next banking day after 12.00 noon.

7.Incomplete tenders or those not in conformity with the conditions laid down are liable to be rejected summarily.

8.The Deputy Director ( R) will inform the successful tenderer in writing the decision of the competent authority at Head Office, Bangalore. This process requires minimum 15 days time.

9.Employees (either staff or mazdoors) working in Coffee Board are not eligible to offer tenders.

10.Upon acceptance of the tender, the successful tenderer shall within 10 days enter into an agreement with the undersigned on a stamp paper at his own cost and shall pay 50% of the bid amount excluding EMD. The balance 50% of the bid amount shall be paid before commencement of crop harvest.

11.Security (Watch and ward) of pepper crop is the sole responsibility of the successful bidder from the date of acceptance of the tender. No drying/storage facility is provided in the station. Daily harvested crop shall be weighed in the presence of the AFM/AEO and taken out.

12. The pepper vines or any other property of the Coffee Board shall not be damaged while harvesting the crop. In case of damage to the property of the Board, equivalent amount of damage will be recovered from the EMD money. EMD money of the successful tenderer will be refunded only after complete harvest of the crop and submission of account of green pepper harvested.

13. The Successful tenderer shall complete harvesting of the entire crop before 15-04-2008.

14. Only the tenderers are allowed inside the hall where tenders are opened. Other companions are not allowed.
