Sealed percentage tenders for the work of “Providing chip carpeting to the existing Road from Shigode junction to CCRI Campus, CCRI, Balehonnur”will be received by the Director of Research, Coffee Board, Central Coffee Research Institute, CRS Post – 577 117, Balehonnur” up to 3.00 p.m., on 07.11.2007.
1. Tenders should be sent in sealed covers addressed to the “Director of Research, Central Coffee Research institute, CRS Post – 577 117, Balehonnur” and super scribed as “Providing chip carpeting to the existing Road from Shigode junction to CCRI Campus, CCRI, Balehonnur.
2. Each tender should be accompanied by a Crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 37,500/- (Rupees Thirty seven thousand and five hundred only ) in favour of “Coffee Board General Fund A/c No.1” payable at Bangalore., drawn on any schedule Bank as Earnest Money Deposit, which will be refunded to the unsuccessful tenderers. The successful tender will make a further deposit making a total sum equal to 10% of the final bill amount which will be deducted while making payment of the bills. This will be treated, as Security Deposit and it will not carry any interest. The Security Deposit will be refunded to the contractor subject to satisfactory performance of the work after six months from the date of final payment made, if no defects in the work done are noticed in the work.
3. Along with the tender schedule, the tenderer should enclose a copy of Registration certificate from CPWD / MES / Railways / State PWD authorities to show that they are the registered contractors of the required class, other wise the tenders will be rejected.
4. Along with the tender, the tenderer shall furnish a copy of the latest Income tax paid Challan, work done certificate from Competent Authorities for an amount equal to the amount put to tender for similar nature of works.
5. The work should be carried out by the contractor strictly in accordance with the CPWD/ISI specification. Standard CPWD practice of measurements will be followed. The payment will be made only on presentation of bills by the contractor in duplicate together with the measurements of actual work done.
6. The Chairman, Coffee Board reserves the right of rejecting all or any of the tenders without assigning any reason.
7. The successful tenderer will be required to execute an agreement with the Estate Officer, Coffee Board, Bangalore in non judicial stamp paper of Rs.100/- for the due fulfillment of the contract within three days of the date of which the acceptance of the tender is communicated to the successful tenderer. Failure to comply with this will entail forfeitment of the deposited Earnest Money.
8.No part of the contract shall be sublet.
9.The contract is not a lump sum contract. The Board does not accept any responsibility for the correctness or completeness of the schedule of probable quantities and payments will be made according to actual agreed measurements at contract rates. The schedule of probable quantities is liable to alterations by omissions & alterations and changes at the discretion of the Estate Officer on approval from the Competent Authority of the Coffee Board..
10 For all extra items of work carried out, the rates should always be negotiated and agreed upon before the work started.
11. Every tenderer before tendering may inspect the spot in regards to its nature, levels, rates of materials, surroundings so as to be fully acquainted with nature of the work and environment in which it has to be executed.
12. If the tenderer feels any doubt as regard to the correct interpretation of any clause, he should get the clarification by discussing it with the Estate Officer and confirm the discussions in a detailed letter and it should accompany the tender or otherwise it will be presumed that the tenderer agrees with the Estate Officer in his standard interpretation of the clauses and no different interpretation in the terms of the contract would be entertained, subsequently during the period of execution of the work.
13. No advance payment on any account will be made.
14. In all the matters pertaining to the contract / tender and in the event of any disputes, the decisions of the Board shall be final. For any legal matters, courts in Bangalore should be the jurisdiction.
15.No increase in the quoted rates will be allowed either on account of increase in the cost of Labour or materials.
16.Any defective work involved within six months of the completion of the entire work will be debited to the contractor’s account and would be recovered either in cash or by deduction in the Security Deposit or both.
17.No alteration shall be made by the tenderer to the tender conditions.
18.The work should be completed within 30 days, from 3rd day after the date of acceptance of the tender and issue of work order. In the event of the tenderer not showing adequate progress of the work, the Chairman, Coffee Board at his discretion may cancel the contract without assigning any reason and forfeit the Security Deposit.
19. The tender will be opened in the Coffee Board Head Office, No.1, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road, Bangalore - 560 001 by a committee constituted for the purpose. The time & date of opening of the tender will be intimated to the Director of Research, CCRI from whom the tenderers can know the time & date of opening of the tenders for them to be present. Also, they can contact the Estate Officer, Coffee Board to know the time & date of opening of the tenders.
20. Estimated cost put to tender is Rs.14,95,652/- (Rupees Fourteen lakhs ninety five thousand six hundred fifty two only) as per the CPWD DSR 2002 rates for the Civil work with the cost index of 29.51%.
