Sub:- Reported ban by the Russian Government on import of all Indian
produce which are derived from plant products –reg.


This is with regard to the reported ban by the Russian Government on import of all Indian produce which are derived from plant product.

Now, Federal Services for Veterinary and Phytosantary Surveillance, Russian Federation informs that w.e.f. 28/01/2008 they have allowed import of Indian Tea, Coffee, Spices and Coffee Husks & Skins through the state borders of St. Petersburg, Leningrad and Kalingrad Region. They have specified that, the products are to comply with the Phytosanitary requirements of Russia, to be packed without use of any natural fibers and to be accompanied with the information about preventive disinfection of packages and containers made by the agencies authorized by the Indian National Organisation and Plant Protection Organisation.

The HS Code and description of items of coffee conditionally allowed to Russian Federation is given below for information and necessary action.
