Coffee Board participated in the "Foodex" Japan 2004 at Tokyo from 8th March to 13th March 2004.

The Board had put up a colourful stall in the Indian pavilion that displayed multi-coloured blow-ups on the various aspects of Indian Coffee, exportable grades of Indian specialty coffees viz. Arabica MNEB, Robusta Kaapi Royale and Monsoon Malaabar AA.
The Board's stall was visited by Ambassador of India in Japan along with Indian Embassy officials. The Board's pavilion was also visited by many Coffee Traders, Roasters and Cafe owners from Tokyo (Japan) and other parts of the world. Most of them had enquired about the availability of Indian coffee to supply to their customers in Japan. Around 50 members of Japanese Roasters and Specialty Coffee Association participated in the cupping session.

On the 11th March 2004, eleven coffee samples from different estates and different coffee growing regions of India were cup tasted. The Japan traders and cafe owners tasted the coffee samples and appreciated the taste and aroma of Indian coffee.
The Deputy Director (QC) highlighted the distinct cup characters of different specialty coffees during the cup tasting session/ presentation.
The Board's participation was organized by Dr.K.Basavaraj, Deputy Director (QC) and Sri.H.K.Govinda Raju, Senior Liaison Officer of the Board.
