Indian Aroma in Italian Espres Show
Coffee Board participated in the specialty Coffee Association of Europe's 3rd World Specialty Coffee Conference & Exhibition and Espres Show held at Rimini, Italy from 31st January to 3rd February 2004.
Rimini is one of the renowned international holiday resorts, strategically located on the Ardiatic coast at the centre of Italy.
"The Espres Show" exclusively for coffee, combined with International Food & Beverage Exhibition was inaugurated on 31st January 2004 at Rimini Fiera with keynote address by Mr. Andrea Illy. About 27 firms concerning Coffee Industry from different countries participated in this fair.
The Board's stall was well decorated with full sized posters, specially prepared for highlighting the theme "India as a single origin source for Espresso Blends". The Indian Specialty Coffees such as Mansooned Malabar AA, Robusta Kaapi Royale and Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold alongwith various literature and brochures on Indian Coffees were on display. The intrinsic qualities of Indian Monsooned Coffee, washed Robustas and Arabicas, projecting India as a single origin for sourcing various coffees required to prepare an excellent espresso were explained to the visiting importers / Roasters.
Espresso Coffee using Indian Blends was served to the visitors throughout the fair period. The brochures on Monsooned Coffee, A fine cup, calendars and posters on regional coffees were also distributed.
Board's stall was a centre of attraction for its unique decoration with full sized posters and excellent espresso coffee, which was well appreciated by visitors specially members of SCAE.
Sri. K. Venkatesh, DD (QC) participated in the panel discussions on specialty coffee and the world cupping competition organised by SCAE on 2nd & 3rd February 2004.
The prominent visitors to our stall include Mr. Nestor Osario, ED., ICO, Mr. Vincezo Sandalj, President SCAE, Messers. Alf Kremer & Trygve Klingenberg Members SCAE and dozens of prominent trade visitor's from all over Italy, UK, Turkey, Japan, Germany, Australia, Lithuania etc., besides scores of other visitors. The trade enquiries received during the fair are being sent to Indian Exporters for follow-up.
Sri. B.R. Natesh, Liaison Officer, New Delhi and Sri. K. Venkatesh, Dy, Director (QC). Hassan were deputed to conduct and organize Board's participation in the above event.
