Coffee Board Participates at Hannover Fair, Germany


The Coffee Board participated in the Hannover Fair, held in Germany from 24th to 28th April 2006. The Hannover Fair is the world's leading trade fair for industrial and automation technology and it's also a large and very promising market for Indian coffee. The coffee traders from the whole of Germany and most of the East Europe countries participated in this renowned fair. After a gap of 25 years, India was a partner country in the current year's event.

The Board put up an impressive stall and displayed premium Indian coffee grades. The pavilion was visited by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India as well as the Union Minister of State for Industry of India, Shri Ashwini Kumar, Commerce Secretary and Ministers of different State Governments. Sri B.S.Yadiyurappa, Dy. Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri Katta Subramanya Naidu, Minister for Sericulture and Small Scale Industry, Govt. of Karnataka along with delegation of officers of the Govt. of Karnataka were among the honoured visitors to the stall besides other dignitaries. All the visitors to the pavilion tasted the coffee being served. There was widespread appreciation of the quality of coffee served at the pavilion. Smt. Shankari Murali, Director of Finance, organized and conducted the participation of the Coffee Board at the event.
