Time For Some Coffee
The smell of coffee brewed in the air. And by the counter, a vending machine churned out a cup of hot espresso. UK’s largest coffee chain, Costa Coffee formally inaugurated its outlet in Bangalore at Koramangala 80 Feet Road.
Costa has also simultaneously opened three additional stores at CMH Road,RMZ Ecospace and Sigma Mall with two more due to open at JNC Road and Jayanagar by end of this month. Costa operates in 25 countries and is now the number two international coffee shop operator with as many as 1,600 stores - 1,069 in the UK and 531 overseas.
At the launch, Andy Marshall, COO,Costa Coffee International said, "Costa’s coffee experience is based on delivering the perfect espresso-based drink combined with great coffee shop food served in a comfortable and chic environment. It has received a fantastic response across all cities of presence. We look forward to receiving a similar response from residents of Bangalore".
About Costa Coffee’s expansion plans, Santhosh Unni, CEO,Costa Coffee India said, "We will open 10 outlets in Bangalore by the year end and will add up to 15 more stores in the next year. We plan to expand to other cities in South India in 2011. We are aiming to add a new store every 15 days in India, taking our count to close to 70-75 stores by the year end."
Costa’s Mocha Italia Coffee is prepared under strict supervision and guidance from Costa Roastery in Lambeth UK. Besides its authetic Italian Coffee, coffee-based drinks and beverages, Costa offers a variety of complementing food.
Guests at Costa can tuck into a wide variety of goodies from their classic as well as seasonal menu that includes premium offerings and international favourites like classic English muffins, wide variety of cakes and desserts with a wide range of paninis, sandwiches, wraps and meal options like pastas. |
