It’s Just a matter of picking up the phone. Hattikaapi delivers freshly brewed coffee - for just 6 bucks

Bangaloreans are used to home delivery. Now, their coffee is also just a call away. All thanks to Hattikaapi that has started delivering coffee at people’s doorsteps, making it the first exclusive coffee outlet to deliver coffee this way.

Hattikaapi was started by Mahender U S, a coffee planter and trader, who wanted to provide good quality coffee at affordable price to Bangaloreans. “I came to know that many hotels use too much chicory in preparing coffee which is not good for health. There are many margin-oriented hotels who prepare tea instead of coffee,’’ said Mahendar.

What is the usp of Hattikaapi? “We use Bisleri water which is priced at Rs 60 for a 25-litre can. And we use Nandini special milk to prepare coffee. We also use branded coffee powder,’’ says Mahender.

Hattikaapi has outlets in Gandhi Bazaar, Navarang Junction, Kapali theatre, Mantri Mall and Malleswaram 8th Cross. It has plans to open outlets on Avenue Road, Jayanagar, Vijayanagar, Banashankari, Rajajinagar and Indiranagar shortly. “Our immediate plan is to open an outlet in padmanabhanagar. We provide door delivery within 300 m radius of our outlets. The minimum order has to be 10 cups. We supply coffee within a few minutes of placing an order. We are also planning to open an outlet in Mysore soon,’’ explains Mahendar.

They also deliver food items — bisibele bath and kara bath. “We open our outlets at 5.30 am and close by 9.30 pm. Most of our customers are middle-aged people. We provide breakfast (bisibele bath plus coffee or kara bath plus coffee) at Rs 16,’’ he said.

Hattikaapi also undertakes catering if its customers place order for 300 to 350 cups of coffee. “We also want to introduce the concept of preparing coffee in the presence of our customers,’’ he signed off.
